It’s not too late to end the summer with a lovely lunch with your favourite friends or family. I am hoping this simply elegant and beautiful table setting will give you some inspiration. It will definitely bring on the “oohs and aahs.”
Here is how it’s done!
- Start with a color or design theme. My color theme is light pink, silver, white with a splash of lavender. My design theme is more upscale, but you can go with anything like casual, country, bohemian. The choices are endless and every theme is beautiful in its own way.
- Next decide how you want to build on your theme.
- Select a place mat (or linen runner) that emphasizes your color theme.
- Add a charger or beautiful large plate. I selected a monochromatic large Italian Vietri plate.
- Top the charger with a side plate. Choose something that has a unique design, color or texture that enhances your theme. Mine is a stunning silver and white striped fine china plate.
- Top with a beautiful linen napkin.
- Add a floral touch to the napkin – I chose a sprig of lavender.
- Border your setting with your cutlery.
- In the top right corner of your setting place your glasses. I chose a beautiful crystal water glass and wine glass. Even if you are not having wine I often serve other beverages in it.
- To finish the table setting I have created individual flower vases at the left side of each table setting. (sometimes I put them in give away jars and your guests can take them home as a special gift and remembrance of the fun time).
- How ever you set your table remember to have fun and use your personality to make it special.
